Morocco Properties

Why I think Morocco properties are a great investment at this early stage:

Morocco - where Africa and Europe face each other across the straits of Gibraltar. Just 9 miles separate Morocco and Spain at their closest point. But what a difference in culture, lifestyle and development!

Morocco has some of the best virgin beaches in the world, dramatic scenery, skiing in the Atlas Mountains, friendly locals and a truly exotic culture.

Ruled in past times by the Spanish, French, Portuguese and even the British – all have left their mark on this captivating country.

With properties in Morocco up to 50% lower than the Costa del Sol (Spain properties), a cost of living reminiscent of Spain in the 70’s and a Mediterranean style climate, Morocco properties is poised to take off.

Tangier on the Northern tip of Morocco has the nearest airport to Europe. Currently enjoying a major makeover the town has a colorful history and is full of character and atmosphere. The medina is a sprawl of winding streets and little shops where local handicrafts can be purchased at knock down prices.
Eating out is a delight and Moroccan, French, Italian and Spanish cuisine is all available.
There is even a McDonalds in the Dawliz Complex!!

Head South from the Airport on the coast road and within a few minutes the landscape is dominated by the clear blue waters of the Atlantic bordered by miles of virgin golden beaches, backed by protected pine woods.

Charming fishing villages such as Asilah with its palm tree lined promenade, ancient Portuguese castle and little Marina are there to be discovered.

This stretch of coastline will see some major developments of properties in Morocco and is set to be one of Morocco’s major tourist destinations.

His Highness King Mohamed VI – the King of Morocco – has put into action his Plan Azure – an ambitious project which aims to have 10 million tourists annually visiting Morocco by 2010.

Plan Azure will include the building of scores of Hotels, Marinas, Motorways and, not least, the release of thousands of acres of Government land for the construction of apartments and villas.

The “Freedom of the Skies” agreement will enable the budged airlines to fly into Moroccan airports later this year – at their usual discount prices.

Over 10% of Spain’s GDP is from tourism. This has not been lost on the Moroccan Government.
With its Mediterranean style climate and lifestyle Morocco is poised to take a major share of this tourism cake. A low cost of living and properties in Morocco up to 50% lower than in nearby Spain, will ensure that “Plan Azure” is a winner.

Mindful of the mistakes made in many of the Spanish Costa’s, strict planning laws will severely restrict build density and the larger developments will have in-built infrastructure – bars, restaurants, shopping malls, golf etc.

Celebrities Galore have already discovered Morocco. Famous property owners include the The Beckhams, Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent, Elizabeth Taylor, P Diddy, Richard Branson, and The Rolling Stones.

‘Early bird’ purchasers, who reserved buy properties in Morocco at off-plan prices, have seen a substantial profit on their investment in a short space of time. Investors still have ample time to get in on the act as future increases are in the pipeline as the Moroccan development progresses.

Whether you are looking for an inexpensive holiday home in a truly fabulous location or a sound property investment Northern Morocco ticks all the right boxes.
